EUR/USD Market Moves 16th December 2009

The EUR got a lift this morning as the trading day moved into to Europe.

French Flash Services PMI was off just a bit at 59.3, but this was totally offset by German Flash Manufacturing and Services PMI figures which both rose to 53.1 and Flash Services PMI for all of the Eurozone climbed to a better than expected 53.7. Year over year CPI and Core CPI for the Eurozone did put some weight on this pair later in the trading day when both figures missed their mark by coming in at 0.5% and 1.0%, respectively. After the Euro hit a high of 1.4584 the Dollar made a come back as jittery traders seemed content to take some quick long Euro profits and get out before the US FOMC decision later today.
